Cherwell Terrace

Railway Carpenters Shop, Cherwell Terrace.

Photocopy of a picture taken of the Carpenter’s Shop in derelict condition, which used to be situated at the bottom of Cherwell Terrace, Woodford Halse.

This building was built as a Carpenter’s Shop where doors and window frames were built for the Railway estate houses.

In the 1950s this building was the School Canteen.

It later became the Co-op Shoe Factory. When the Shoe Factory left it is thought the building became a storage repository for someone, and when they left the building became derelict for some time before it was demolished in 1989.
