Church Street

Post Office, 12 Church Street, Woodford Halse.

This picture taken in 2001, located on the corner of Church Street and Castle Road, was once a butcher’s shop, run by the Northrop family, with its own slaughter house behind (still visible as a brick building). The butchers shop then moved to the small extension adjoining Woodford Manor House, where the Northrop family lived.

This building was then used by the Electricity Board before becoming an electrical shop.

12 Church Street remains the village Post Office.
