Locomotives № 67710 and № 90433 in the shed on Saturday 5th May 1962. The L1 is a recent acquisition and one of a steady dribble of Gorton rejects ending up at Woodford Halse.
Prior to arriving at Woodford in March of this year[1962], № 67710 had mouldered in the scrap line at Gorton - it arrived there in January of last year[1961].
№ 90433 is a long-time Woodford Halse engine and one of several Woodford Austerity 2-8-0s that once ran with LNER numbers (63000-63199 series) under the designation ‘O7’. This engine will be withdrawn at Woodford in May 1964.
