Tomb of Matilda de Holland in St Mary’s

A recumbent figure found in St Mary the Virgin [C of E] Church, thought to be Matilda de Holland (also known as Maud Holland) who was the Lady of the Manor of Woodford and Farndon from 1329.

The carving shows her wearing a gown and mantle fastened by a cord.
