The Parish Church, thought to have been built in the twelfth century, it was pulled down and rebuilt in 1878. During the rebuilding, the foundations of what was thought to be, of an earlier church was discovered.

At the Central Library, in Northampton, there are photographs of the church taken before the renovation, which show that the roof was coming down, due to the weight of the roof pushing the walls of the nave outwards.

A water colour by Miss Alice Dryden, also at the Library, shows a gallery at the west end of the nave. This is not mentioned in the Vicar’s report on what was done during the renovation, so it is assumed it was taken down before 1878.
