WOODFORD HALSE.

CHILDREN’S TREAT.-The Women’s Section of the A.S.L.E. and F. gave the members’ children a treat on Wednesday.

About 80 sat down to tea, after which games were arranged by Mr. W. Hirons, who kept the children rolling in laughter at his own antics.

Dancing followed with adults attending. Mr. G. Batson was M.C., and music was supplied by Mr. Edmunds’ band.

The children each received a bag of sweets, orange and cracker.

The Ladies’ Committee, under their secretary (Mrs. L. Sanders) deserve praise for the able manner in which they arranged and carried out the entertainment.

Note: A.S.L.E. and F. (or ASLEF) is an acronym for the Associated Society of Locomotive Engineers and Firemen union.
